Brandon Bethea
Co-Founding Partner
Mr. Bethea is a Co-Founder and Partner of Aterian Investment Partners and serves on the Investment Committee. Mr. Bethea has been a private equity investor since 2000. Prior to Aterian, he was a Principal with Insight Equity, an investment professional with Freeman Spogli & Co and began his career with Salomon Smith Barney’s investment banking division.
Since 2015, Mr. Bethea has also served on the Endowment Committee of Christ Church in Pelham, New York. Mr. Bethea received his AB from Harvard University where he was a member of the Varsity Men’s Tennis Team. Mr. Bethea also earned an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University. Brandon originally hails from Oklahoma and in another life would aspire to be the Sooners’ Offensive Coordinator.
Michael Fieldstone
Co-Founding Partner
Mr. Fieldstone is a Partner at Aterian Investment Partners and serves on its Investment Committee. Mr. Fieldstone has been engaged in private equity investing for more than 20 years. Prior to founding Aterian in 2009, Mr. Fieldstone was a Principal at Sun Capital Partners involved with numerous investments including family/founder, corporate carve-out, restructuring and growth-oriented situations as well as a Principal at Apollo Management involved with the diligence, acquisitions and monitoring of investments. Mr. Fieldstone began his career at Salomon Smith Barney as a generalist in the Mergers and Acquisitions Investment Banking group.
Mr. Fieldstone received a Bachelor of Science in Economics from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. Michael was born and raised in Miami, the home of the championship Miami Hurricane teams of the 1980s, and currently enjoys spending time with his family running after his two young kids.
Christopher Thomas
Co-Founding Partner
Mr. Thomas is a Partner at Aterian Investment Partners and serves on the Investment Committee. Mr. Thomas has over 20 years of transaction and operation experience from growth specific opportunities to complex situations. Prior to Aterian, Mr. Thomas was a Principal at Sun Capital Partners focused primarily on chemical, industrial and consumer products in the public and private markets. Mr. Thomas began his career in the Investment Banking group at Oppenheimer in New York, where he executed various corporate transactions and financings.
Mr. Thomas graduated cum laude from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. Hailing from Miami, Chris is likely to be found fishing with his wife and three young children, or tinkering on something in the backyard.
Ryan Miller
Managing Director
Mr. Miller is a Managing Director at Aterian Investment Partners involved in sourcing, transaction due diligence, underwriting and portfolio company activities. Mr. Miller has been a private equity investor since 2003. Prior to Aterian, he was a Managing Director with Dunes Point Capital and Lindsay Goldberg, and began his career with Donaldson Lufkin & Jenrette and Lehman Brothers’ investment banking divisions.
Mr. Miller received a Bachelor of Science in Accountancy with a Minor in Technology Management from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and an MBA from the Harvard Business School. Ryan grew up in the Chicagoland area and passionately supports all Chicago sports teams other than the Cubs.
Rahul Sawhney
Managing Director
Mr. Sawhney is a Managing Director at Aterian Investment Partners and is responsible for all aspects of the investment process, including sourcing, diligence, transaction structuring, financing, and value creation and exit strategies. Rahul has been engaged in private equity investing for over fifteen years, successfully executing buy-and-build, carve-out, and turnaround investment strategies. Prior to Aterian, he was a senior investment professional with Z Capital Group and Black Diamond Capital Management. Rahul started his career at JPMorgan Chase where he gained substantive experience in capital markets and restructurings.
Rahul received a Bachelor of Technology in Electronics & Communications Engineering from the National Institute of Technology and earned an MBA with honors from the University of Chicago. He is a CFA® Charterholder. Rahul was born in Germany, has lived on four continents, and enjoys outdoor adventures and global travels.
Jillian Boidy
CFO + CCO
Mrs. Boidy is Chief Financial Officer and Chief Compliance Officer at Aterian Investment Partners managing finance, accounting, and tax matters of the firm along with SEC regulatory compliance. Mrs. Boidy joined Aterian in 2018 with over ten years’ experience serving within the finance function of private equity firms. Mrs. Boidy began her career in public accounting as an auditor and tax preparer serving both for-profit and non-profit clients.
Mrs. Boidy graduated cum laude from Loyola University Maryland, earning an MBA in Finance and a BBA in Accounting and is currently a Certified Public Accountant in New York State. Mrs. Boidy is a volunteer Troop Leader with Girl Scouts of the USA through which she has received reward recognition for her efforts in leadership, event planning, and charitable organization.
A. Christian Remmel
Director, Business Development
Mr. Remmel is a Director at Aterian Investment Partners and leads the firm’s Business Development efforts. Previously, Mr. Remmel was a member of the investment team at Aterian, assisting with the evaluation, execution, and due diligence of investment opportunities. Prior to joining Aterian, Mr. Remmel was an investment professional at Torque Capital Group, a middle-market private equity firm. Mr. Remmel began his career at Wells Fargo Securities as an analyst in the Technology, Media & Telecom Investment Banking group.
Mr. Remmel graduated Cum Laude from Washington and Lee University where he received a B.S. in Business Administration. Mr. Remmel is a former concert cellist, college Rugby player, and enthusiastic hockey fan (watching).
Jorge Fabre
Principal
Mr. Fabre is a Principal at Aterian Investment Partners assisting in the due diligence, underwriting and portfolio management activities of the firm. Mr. Fabre was most recently an Analyst in the Mergers & Acquisitions group at Wells Fargo Securities. While at Wells Fargo, Mr. Fabre focused on a broad range of advisory assignments across various industries.
Mr. Fabre received a B.S. in Finance from the Warrington School of Business at the University of Florida. Jorge is a Dominican Republic native who grew up in Central Florida, unfortunately making him an Orlando Magic fan.
Jay Taunk
Principal
Mr. Taunk is a Principal at Aterian Investment Partners involved in sourcing, transaction due diligence, underwriting and portfolio management activities of the firm. Mr. Taunk was previously with SK Capital Partners and Radial Equity Partners, and has been a private equity investor since 2013.
He received his B.S. in Finance from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and is based in Aterian’s Florida office.
Justin Pash
Vice President
Mr. Pash is a Vice President at Aterian Investment Partners assisting in the due diligence, underwriting and portfolio management activities of the firm. He was previously a Vice President at Incline Equity Partners where he focused on business services and value-added distribution companies. Prior to Incline, Justin was on the investment team at Crestview Partners and at Periphas Capital. He began his career in investment banking in the Global Power & Utility group at Morgan Stanley.
Justin graduated with honors in Economics from Harvard University and received his MBA from The Wharton School at The University of Pennsylvania. In his spare time, he enjoys golfing, exploring new restaurants, spending time with friends and family, and being perpetually disappointed by New York sports teams.
Henry Greer
Senior Associate
Henry is a Senior Associate at Aterian Investment Partners assisting in the due diligence, underwriting, and portfolio management activities of the firm. Prior to Aterian, Henry was a Senior Associate at Radial Equity Partners and Kelso & Company. He began his career in the Power & Utilities Investment Banking Group at Citi.
Henry graduated from the University of Notre Dame with a B.A. in Economics. In his spare time, Henry enjoys watching Chelsea F.C. and playing squash.
Carlos Sanchez
Senior Associate
Mr. Sanchez is a Senior Associate at Aterian Investment Partners assisting in the due diligence, underwriting and portfolio management activities of the firm. Prior to Aterian, Mr. Sanchez was an Associate at Quad-C Management, where he primarily focused on evaluating business services and food & beverage investments. Mr. Sanchez began his career in the Communications, Media, and Entertainment Investment Banking Group at RBC Capital Markets.
Carlos graduated magna cum laude from the University of Puerto Rico with a B.S. in Industrial Engineering. In his spare time, Carlos enjoys watching Formula 1 and trying new restaurants with friends.
Reeves Balderson
Associate
Mr. Balderson is an Associate at Aterian Investment Partners assisting in the due diligence, underwriting, and portfolio management activities of the firm. Prior to Aterian, Mr. Balderson was an Investment Banking Associate on the Leveraged Finance team at BMO Capital Markets, where he worked on a broad range of leveraged buyout, mergers & acquisition, and refinancing transactions across various industries.
Reeves graduated cum laude from the University of Michigan, Ross School of Business with a BBA. Reeves enjoys exploring new restaurants, cheering on Philadelphia and Michigan sports teams, and traveling in his free time.
Bobby Crawford
Associate
Mr. Crawford is an Associate at Aterian Investment Partners assisting in the due diligence, underwriting and portfolio management activities of the firm. Prior to Aterian, Mr. Crawford was an Associate at Audax Private Equity. Mr. Crawford began his career in the Consumer practice at EY-Parthenon.
Bobby received a B.A. in Computer Science and a Minor in Spanish Language & Literature at Dartmouth College. In his free time, Bobby enjoys taking advantage of South Florida weather by rollerblading along Miami Beach, and he’d like to get his boating and scuba licenses soon.
Matthew Currier
Associate
Matt is an Associate at Aterian Investment Partners assisting in the due diligence, underwriting and portfolio management activities of the firm. Prior to Aterian, Matt was an Associate at H.I.G. Capital, where he focused on middle market investments across various sectors for H.I.G.’s flagship LBO fund. Prior to H.I.G., he was an Analyst in the Investment Banking division of Citi where he focused on M&A for Diversified Industrials clients.
Matt graduated from the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University with a B.S. in Finance and International Business. He is a native of Minnesota and enjoys supporting their professional sports teams in his spare time.
Ryan Fuchs

Mr. Fuchs is an Associate at Aterian Investment Partners assisting in the due diligence, underwriting and portfolio management activities of the firm. Prior to Aterian, Mr. Fuchs was a Private Equity Associate at CORE Industrial Partners, where he focused on investments in the industrial services sector. Prior to that, Mr. Fuchs was a member of the Chemicals Investment Banking Group at Piper Sandler.
Ryan received a B.S. in Finance from Siena College. In his free time, Ryan enjoys fitness, traveling and rooting for the Minnesota Vikings.
Hunter Huseby
Associate
Mr. Huseby is an Associate at Aterian Investment Partners assisting in the due diligence, underwriting, and portfolio management activities of the firm. Prior to Aterian, Mr. Huseby was an Analyst in the Financial Sponsors Group at KeyBanc Capital Markets. While industry agnostic, Mr. Huseby worked on transactions across the Industrials and Business Services spaces, among others.
Hunter received a B.S. in Finance and a Master’s in International Business from the University of Florida, where he served as a member of the Florida Blue Key leadership society and as a University Ambassador. In his free time, Hunter enjoys live music, fitness, golf, international travel, and watching the Gators and Yankees.
Marvin Leveille
Associate
Mr. Leveille is an Associate at Aterian Investment Partners assisting in the due diligence, underwriting and portfolio management activities of the firm. Prior to Aterian, Mr. Leveille was an analyst on the Leveraged Finance Team at Wells Fargo Securities. While industry agnostic, Mr. Leveille worked on transactions across the Industrials, Consumer & Retail, and Business Services spaces, among others.
Marvin received a B.S. in Economics and Minor in Business Administration from Florida A&M University (FAMU) where he served as the Student Supreme Court Chief Justice and Vice President of the Beta Nu chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. Marvin is a descendent of Haitian immigrant parents and in his free time enjoys spending time with family & friends watching the Miami Heat & Dolphins dominate their respective leagues.
Nolan O’Rear

Mr. O’Rear is an Associate at Aterian Investment Partners assisting in the due diligence, underwriting and portfolio management activities of the firm. Prior to Aterian, Mr. O’Rear was an Investment Banking Analyst at D.A. Davidson, where he focused on sell-side M&A mandates for clients across the aerospace & defense, building products, and machinery & equipment sectors.
Mr. O’Rear received a B.S. in Accounting and Finance from Northern Illinois University. Nolan is a former member of the U.S. national karate team and still enjoys practicing the sport in his free time.
Kristel Ermel
Director of Finance
Ms. Ermel is Director of Finance at Aterian Investment Partners and assists with fund accounting, audit, tax and all other aspects of the firm’s financial reporting. Kristel joined Aterian with close to twenty years of experience working for various private equity firms in NYC. Most recently, Kristel was at a private equity start up Ember Infrastructure where she created and oversaw the firm’s finance function. Prior to Ember, Kristel spent over five years as VP of Finance at The Beekman Group where she was responsible for all aspects of fund and management company financial reporting along with SEC compliance. She began her career at Ernst & Young providing audit services to clients in the financial services sector.
Ms. Ermel holds a Bachelor of Science in Public Accounting from Mercy University. In her free time, she enjoys snowboarding, hiking, live concerts, trips to the beach and spending time with friends and family.
Tatiana Norinsberg
Accounting Manager
Mrs. Norinsberg is Accounting Manager at Aterian Investment Partners with a focus on corporate accounting functions. Previously, she worked six years as a Lead Accounting Analyst at tech company Reval.com Inc., utilizing her international financial experience and coordinating corporate accounting processes and reporting with several foreign accounting teams. Mrs. Norinsberg started her professional career at KPMG in Dusseldorf, Germany in audit financial services.
Mrs. Norinsberg received her Master’s Degree in Economics from the University of Hildesheim, Germany. Tatiana is fluent in both Russian and German. In her spare time, she enjoys being with her husband and their three daughters, traveling and creating watercolor paintings.
Brianne Blessitt
Administrative Director
Mrs. Blessitt is the Administrative Director at Aterian Investment Partners, responsible for the firm’s administrative and office operations for both the NY and FL offices. Mrs. Blessitt joined Aterian following her most recent role as an Executive Assistant at J.C. Flowers & Co. Mrs. Blessitt is originally from Rapid City, South Dakota and upon graduating with a Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance from the University of Wyoming, she moved to New York to pursue a performance career. After a year in the city, Brianne began working in an office setting and thus discovered the world of finance and her passion for improving the overall functionality of a firm’s operations.
Brianne spends her time outside the office chasing after her two daughters, leading worship with her husband, crafting for local markets, and finding ways to support her community.
Luis Rodriguez
Office Manager
Mr. Rodriguez is Aterian’s Office Manager, responsible for the operations of the firm’s Miami office and involved in firmwide administrative initiatives. Luis joined Aterian following his most recent role as the Director of Operations and Support at Bullpen Capital, a venture capital and private equity firm based in San Francisco, CA.
Luis was born and raised in New York City. He attended Stony Brook University and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with a Minor in Sociology. He spent five years in San Francisco before moving to Miami, FL in early 2023. Luis spends his time exploring his new community, maintaining close contact with family and friends, and enjoying all that life has to offer. Being from NY, he is a die-hard Yankees, Knicks, and Giants fan. In the past five years, he has become a huge fan of futbol, or as Americans call it, soccer.
